I was originally drawn to massage by influence of my favorite and most intimidating dance instructor, Stanley. I grew up wanting to dance and eventually teach dance, but when I saw the connection he made with each of us through his natural instinct to massage and teach, boosting our spirits while preventing and healing injuries, I realized there was also a deeper and more grounding side of touch.

Throughout my massage training, before I even got to my 4th term, I felt my body wanting to dance during each session. So I did. That led to my belly holding up the clients head or feet, my hip pushing into clients while using my hands and arms, my knee propping itself onto the client for a deeper hold, and eventually led to down to my feet.

One of my massage instructors also felt the natural translation of massage down through her feet, and after receiving only one 15 minute session from her, I was hooked. I found the Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy Continuing Education class during my 4th quarter, and skipped my graduation ceremony to learn the art of Barefoot Massage. That Ashiatsu class and Yvonne’s “Lucky Feet” massage session changed my life.

I've been in the medical field providing injury treatment bodywork for the majority of my massage career. I've worked with Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Family Practice doctors and Osteopaths coordinating care of patients. Common injuries that my massages help range from Headaches and Migraines to Sprains, Strains, recovery from joint replacements, and Bulging Discs. I'll pull from my training and experience and use whatever techniques help you the best. (Because of course Barefoot Massage is not the most effective modality for every situation!)

I helped build Barefoot Massage awareness in the Seattle area during my first 5 years of providing massage. Now in San Antonio, I'm Central Texas's most advanced trained and Certified Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapist. I have been trained by the founder and leading instructors of both Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and Fijian Massage. Right now I am focused on school, working towards a Physical Therapy degree. If I disappear for a while and take Heeling Sole off the radar, it's because I'm off learning!

I love to dance, snowboard, surf, practice yoga, play with my beagle and rock out at my husbands band's concerts. Besides Ashiatsu, my favorite massages to receive are Lomi Lomi, Esalen, Breema and Thai from my best friends in Seattle, San Antonio, Austin and Germany. My favorite yoga in town is at Synergy, check this place out: http://www.thesynergystudio.com/
